Bring It On!
For those of you who have followed the saga of the #28 and #85 Challenge Series Cobras this year, we have some very, very good news: Both cars are ready to take on the 25 Hours!!!!
After a season of heating and overheating issues, both teams made the final push to get these "road warrior" Cobras ready to take on the longest and most demanding race in North America: The 25 Hours of Thunderhill.
Needless to say, it was with more than just a little intrepidation that Ed (#85) and I (#28) belted into our Cobras this morning and took to the track at California Speedway in what we both knew would be a "make it or break it" on-track, proving ground session. As both cars climbed the high banking onto the front straight, we rolled on the power, and from the time we crossed start-finish, it was "game on" for both drivers! Lap after lap, we kept one eye on the temp gauges, as we watched the tachometers and powered through the gears.
We ran nose to tail through the high banked oval, chasing each other and snaking into the infield, all the while darting through traffic and being predatored by a large group of Radicals as they prepped for their final race of the season. Outside air temps were in the high 80's, but not to worry, as engine temps ran a consistent 175 in both cars. At the end of the session, Ed and I pretty much jumped out of the cars and did the happy dance in the garage (Now that's a picture :>))
We'll be going out for a couple of back up sessions in the morning, but right now, we're thinking, "Bring it on!"Thanks to everyone for the good wishes.....The power of postive thinking (and good wrenching) lives on!
See you at the 25!

Karen/Andy,
I am looking forward to making this years competition. I am sitting here in Ventura CCounty awaiting the phone call from Rman asking me if I am ready to leave yet or not: Followed by his all to predictable retort to my answer. "Come on Dog lets Roll!!!" (obviously said with that all to familiar accent of his that we all know and love.) Congradulations on getting the car running and your finish in the rakings this season. Maybe we should consider teaching Ady how to use a phone so he can call Roman and I in the future to help with all the repairs to the car. Just a thought!!! Well hope all is well and drive safly and carefully to thunderhill and let us know if you need anything last minute we will be more than happy to get it.

Ryan,
You're really too funny! So glad you'll be joining us at the race again this year. As I said in my team e-mail, there's no way we could feed these thirsty Cobras the 500 gallons of fuel we'll use without the support of great team members!
That Roman is really something! We're very fortunate to have both of you on the Racing 4A Reason Team!
Have a safe trip up...We look forward to seeing you next week at Thunderhill! Eat your Wheaties, as we're all gonna need every ounce of energy we can muster...Go Team Cobra 25 Hours!
